About the Chamber of Certified Accountants:

The Chamber of Certified Accountants (hereinafter referred to as the Chamber) was founded at its inaugural meeting in Prague on April 13, 1999, as an independent organizational unit of the Union of Accountants based on the principle of a self-governing professional organization. The Chamber brings together professionals who are graduates of the accounting profession certification system in the Czech Republic or a similar system of another IFAC member organization (meeting international educational standards) or a member thereof.

The Chamber of Certified Accountants has two basic tasks:

  • contribute to the development and improvement of the accounting profession in the Czech Republic
  • provide professional and other services to its members.

For the development of the accounting profession, the Chamber has the following powers defined by its statutes:

  • participate in the implementation of the accounting profession certification system
  • ensure continuous professional education for accountants
  • issue a code of ethics and other standards governing the activities of professional accountants
  • supervise compliance with standards by professional accountants
  • cooperate with other professional organizations and schools bilaterally and within the National Accounting Council in the development of accounting professions and in the field of accounting methodology, promote legislative regulation of the accounting profession
